Friends,
This has been quite a week.  (I think I said that last week, too. Ha ha) Such emotion, prayer and anticipation of the unknown (weather-wise) for so many people in various areas going on.  My sister was down in Florida helping a friend and my niece lives in the Miami area so they were a personal family concern.
We have so many friends in Tampa and other cities it was hard not to watch TV constantly and praying for their safety.  God had mercy there.  Then of course, Houston is still reeling from their hurricane.  We are supplying some water purification systems.  We want to help as much as we are able.  Prasad George, one of our staff members, lives in Houston so we are going through him.

Fred’s surgery didn’t get quite the result we had hoped for.  Once the doctor got in there, he saw it couldn’t be fixed.  He cleaned it out the best he could of any bone spurs and such. Fred starts therapy tomorrow to help strengthen his muscles.  We will have to see how that goes before making a decision to do a shoulder replacement.  He has always been so healthy and a hard worker that this has been quite a shock.  He is like a car in neutral revving up its engine ready to go.  He mentioned to the doctor today he needed to get down and help in Texas.  The doctor replied, “I think someone else is going to have to do it this time, Fred.”  Fred needs to heal and get comfortable in slowing down.  You know him well enough that is going to be a big challenge.    As he sits in the recliner with his shoulder in a sling, it is easy to be overwhelmed with his thoughts.  He gets calls all the time from people with great needs in India and other places.  That is one of the reasons we started HIM, to help, financially, third world believers.  We are so very grateful to you and many others who give to us personally for our needs.   In turn, we try to help others in their ministries.  God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor. 9:7   In the past couple of years, we have lost two of our largest donors.  The Lord called them home.   They helped us do matching funds and the like.  I would appreciate your prayers in supplying and blessing those who are in great need.  Our personal support is wonderful and steady because of friends like you.  So, it is for others I ask.  Please pray “for a man to step into the gap”. Ez. 22:30
