The Pakistani state religion is Islam. Almost 96% of Pakistan's 184 million people are Muslim, leaving Christians at a mere 2%. Shari'a law is often applied to other religious groups, which makes witnessing here dangerous and the need for caution vital. The government here is corrupt and constantly deals with infighting or military dictatorships. Violence and war led by fundamentalist Islam cost thousands of lives. Many schools, called madrasas, exist only to teach shari'a law and help children memorize the Quran; the main reason they exist, beyond gaining militant support, is because of the low quality of state-funded schools and high cost of private ones. Women are allowed hardly any rights, freedoms, or education, and suffer domestic abuse regularly. Because of this social structure, witnessing to women is very hard.
The blasphemy law allows anyone to be sentenced to death for defaming Mohammad (or being accused of doing so), and life imprisonment for defiling the Quran. Many people get framed, many of which are Muslim, due to personal prejudice, motives, or jealousy. Frequently, churches are destroyed or vandalized, and people beaten, killed, raped, or forced to convert to Islam. Justice is often not found. Christians are second-rate here, making it hard to make a living. When Muslims convert to Christianity, there are deadly consequences if found out. There is a sincere need for Bible translations in Pakistan, while radio is usually the only way people hear the Gospel.

For the safety and security of these missionaries, last names have been abbreviated.
Caleb J.
Caleb and his wife, Z. are very strategically located in the middle of this Islamic country. They have developed many community programs including Christian schools for over 500 students. They have hosted teams from the "outside” and need prayer for protection. They are presently constructing a multi-purpose center that will house medical clinic, schools, churches, and training center. Because this is a highly sensitive area please contact our office for more details. This ministry is based in one of the most unreached parts of the world.
"We need lots of prayers as there is lots of terrorism going on everywhere. No one knows what will go on the next minute. But the Lord our God is still on the THRONE and we always look forward to Him and pray that His will be fulfilled in this area."

"We had a very blessed and fruitful trip to Korian village, Gojra, one of the villages where people were attacked and homes burnt. The village comprises of a total of 160 houses, 56 of which were burnt. The two churches were burnt and partially destroyed as well. They came with chemicals and weapons, scared away the residents and threatened to burn them alive. We were warmly welcomed by victimized families who had taken shelter from the heat under tents. They were glad to see us because they needed assurance that their brothers and sisters in Christ are with them in this disastrous condition. Most of them just burst out with tears as we assured them of our love and care."
