92% of the Philippines' 93.6 million people profess to be Christian. The Muslim minority, making up 5% of the population, are moving to make an independent Islamic state. The Philippines have great potential in the economic and political realm, but due to the government's failure to deal with important social and economic issues, half of the population is impoverished. This country is Asian's most Christian nation, but also the 4th most corrupt. Tropical storms are a big factor, costing the country millions in repair and aiding the poverty problem. The Catholic Church, which has a foothold here, and the Protestant churches are fighting for power instead of working together. People here also are blending Biblical truths with false teachings and creating their own cults. There is a great need for leadership, but the missionary organizations in the Philippines is rapidly growing.

Hermie G.
In the southern most province of Mindanao, Philippines, this respected community leader faithfully and boldly stands for Christ…surrounded by Islamic extremists. He has developed over many years a strong network of local churches and outreaches over many unreached mountain regions. His heart for economical progress for the poorest has led him into many agricultural projects such as mango tree groves to empower the village people. God has given Hermie a special influence both politically and spiritually in this sensitive region.
Noe G.
With the help of Expand the Heartland funds Noe was able to help Christian brothers get back on their feet after consecutive typhoons caused extensive mudslides and flooding in his area, buying tools, rice and other basic supplies for those who had lost everything. He has developed a self-supporting "taxi" program by rebuilding old cars and providing jobs for the needy. Noe was also able to relocate his family from the squatter area where they were living to safer home because of your help. This gifted young man has administrated a Bible College, planted churches, overseen hundreds of rural pastors, facilitated tribal and national level seminars and training programs. His unique call and gifting to network encourage and educate believers in continually providing open doors in Asia to build the body of Christ.
"Praying is not enough; feeding and gift giving to orphans creates space in their hearts that there is a God who cares and will eventually be their Savior. We train tribe youth to win tribe people, teach music out of school youth to win others for Christ through music. Thanks to HIM assistance."

Erlinda R.
In 1985, this physically handicapped woman committed herself to serve the Lord and His people by faith. After finishing her college and seminar level training she was asked to oversee all the alumni for ATTS. Trained by Fred Kornis in the O.A.C. 'Sowers' program, she continues to do pioneer village outreaches throughout the Philippines a well as her disciplining and intercessory ministries. She is now in the middle of a challanging building program with a tribal church in the north. Pray as she also battles physical needs.
